The transcript of this oral history begins with the interview already in progress. In the first part of this interview Hartmire discusses the outline of shared qualities between himself and Chavez. Chavez joins the interview and they share their perceptions of the migrant ministry and relationship with it. They discuss the roles that different religious groups played in the boycotts and reflect on the influence of Ghandi on fasting and non-violent protests. This interview includes an outline of shared qualities of leadership between Chavez and Hartmire.
